Upcoming Unofficial Match: Ex-Tigers Face Off Against Former Teammates

Dogs confirm stars new training program | 00:21

New recruits take on old teammates, archrivals go head-to-head and a rare three-team match headline the unofficial match simulations set to take place during February.

Competitive football against opposition clubs is now less than a month away with all 18 teams locking in unofficial match simulations in recent days.

Liam Baker, Jack Graham and Andrew McQualter will take on their old club Richmond, while Hawthorn heads to GMHBA Stadium to play fierce rivals Geelong.

The Western Bulldogs and Essendon clash on Saturday February 15 to kick off proceedings, before the Dockers take on the Indigenous All Stars later that night in Perth.

Collingwood, Brisbane and Gold Coast will play each other on Thursday February 20, with each club playing two quarters against both oppositions (totalling six for the match).

The Giants take on the Swans and the Crows take on Port Adelaide on the Friday, while North Melbourne will play Melbourne and Carlton will play St Kilda at various stages across that weekend.

It is up to the clubs to decide on the rules and timings of each unofficial match simulation. In the past we’ve seen scoreboards reset, more than four ‘quarters’ played and other rule adaptations that you certainly wouldn’t see in an official match.

Ticketing and how to watch each match simulation will be communicated by clubs closer to the time.

The AAMI Community Series begins on Tuesday February 25 when Essendon travel to GMHBA Stadium to take on Geelong.

All AAMI Community Series matches are played under premiership rules which includes four 20-minute quarters plus time on, but there will be no interchange cap giving coaches the flexibility of getting a look at multiple players.

Every match of the AAMI Community Series will be broadcast live on Foxtel and Kayo. More details, including ticketing, will be communicated in due course.
