Australia could soon have two UFC champions, with Alexander Volkanovski and Jack Della Maddalena set for world title shots in the coming months.

UFC boss Dana White made the major announcements on Thursday afternoon, revealing that featherweight champion Ilia Topuria was vacating his belt with the plan to move up to lightweight.
It means Volkanovski, who lost his crown to the Spanish sensation, will now have a chance to reclaim his throne against Diego Lopes at UFC 314 in Miami on April 12.
Meanwhile, Della Maddalena — Australia’s fastest rising UFC star — has been rewarded for his stellar form with a shot at welterweight champion Belal Muhammad at UFC 315 in Canada on May 10.
Maddalena was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards in March, hoping to win that bout and then get his shot at the champion. Instead, that life-changing opportunity has already arrived.
