SOCIAL media called out a German figure skater for choosing to perform to the theme from Schindler’s List – a movie about the Holocaust – during the Winter Olympics.
Nicole Schott performed to the Schindler’s List score during her free skate performance on Thursday night.
“Nicole Schott is a German woman skating to Schindler’s List. that feels real f***ed up #Olympics,” wrote one commenter.
“NO ONE SHOULD BE SKATING TO SCHINDLER’S LIST!!!!!!!” added USA Today columnist Nancy Armour.
Steven Spielberg’s 1993 movie was about Oskar Schindler, a German factory owner who saved the lives of Jewish refugees during the Holocaust by employing them at his factories. John Williams wrote the score.
Not everyone took issue with the choice.
