The Sea Eagles have taken the conservative approach and decided to rest superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic due to hamstring tightness.
Trbojevic suffered the injury late in the game against the Warriors last week and won’t face the red-hot Raiders on Sunday.
The club haven’t confirmed who will replace him but it will likely be between speedsters Lehi Hopoate and Tolu Koula who have both worn the No. 1 jersey previously.

“Tom Trbojevic will not be playing in Sunday’s Round 3 match against Canberra Raiders at 4 Pines Park,” a club statement read.
“The Manly fullback experienced hamstring tightness late in the match against the Warriors last Friday and has been on a modified training program during the week.
“While Tom was running freely in training today, the club is taking a conservative approach to have him ready for Sunday week’s home game against the Eels.”

Late Mail: There were reports Kotoni Staggs could make an earlier-than-expected return from a quadriceps injury but coach Michael Maguire silenced them on Thusday. “Kotoni won’t play but he will be in the 19 (man squad),” Maguire said. “We have done a lot of work to get him to this point but I feel at this present moment with where Kotoni is at, I will keep him on edge there. “He was very close to playing, but Kotoni has had a few issues with his injury. It was touch-and-go, but it’s the right thing to do at the moment for Kotoni and allow him to have more time. “It’s just up in the hip flexor, it’s a bit higher than his quad, they can be tricky at times.”
