West Coast veteran Dom Sheed has suffered a season-ending ACL rupture, the club confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

The latest in a “wretched run” of injuries, Sheed fell victim to the ailment in an ‘innocuous’ training incident on Monday.
The 29-year-old, who has 165 AFL games to his name including kicking the premiership-winning goal against Collingwood in 2018, has managed a combined 24 games in the past three seasons due to a raft of injury issues.
“Unfortunately, Dom ruptured his ACL in an innocuous incident during training on Monday,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said today.
“It is extremely disappointing news for Dom after a wretched run with injuries over recent seasons, and I know our players, staff and entire Club will offer him their full support during his rehabilitation.
“We will take some time now to consult with Dom and medical experts about the next step, and we will provide a further update at the appropriate time.”
The midfielder, who debuted in 2014 after the Eagles drafted him 11th overall out of Subiaco, is out of contract at year’s end.
Sheed will join fellow 2018 premiership player Elliot Yeo on the sidelines after he injured the medial ligament in his right knee during a pre-season match simulation.
