Darcy continues his rehabilitation from knee surgery and is “tracking well” according to the club.

The Dockers are continuously searching for ways to improve Darcy’s program to give him the best chance possible of playing as many games as he can in 2025.

“Sean will spend a week at Aspetar Sports Medical Clinic consulting with their specialists to embed some new strategies in his program,” Fremantle Executive GM Football Joe Brierty said.

“These strategies will specifically relate to Sean’s strength program and functional movement to complement a lot of the work already implemented by our Performance Health team.

“With things progressing well and looking to commence Sean’s re-integration into football, we are now at a stage where we feel that the timing is right to continue to invest in practices to aid his progression.

“We’re looking for any short-term gains to assist with Sean’s return to play, but we are also looking at the long-term stability of his knee.”

The 26-year-old ruck managed just 12 games in 2024 but has worked hard over the off-season and looks slimmer.

Darcy participated in a main training session last week and will depart the country on Friday alongside Dockers Strength and Conditioning manager Jackson Dennis.

Last year, the Dockers sent defender Heath Chapman across to Doha too, after suffering a series of hamstring issues.

Hawk Changkuoth Jiath, Tiger Josh Gibcus and Eagles trio Jeremy McGovern, Elliot Yeo and Harry Edwards have also spent time in the Middle East which has previously hosted international soccer superstars Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as well.
