Crucial Board Meeting to Address Dragons Forward’s Training Standoff

The Dragons are set to make a decision on the future of disgruntled prop Francis Molo at a club board meeting on Thursday.

Molo, 30, has been absent from Dragons training over the past fortnight with the star front-rower reportedly intimating to those close to him that he’s played his last game at the club.

Molo was set be a Round 1 starting prop before his shock absence. It’s now looking more and more likely he won’t be in the Red V at all in 2025.

The club has granted Molo leave, but are still considering their options. CODE Sports reported that Molo was expected to front the board with his agent and an RLPA representative.

The Dragons boosted their front-row stocks this week with the signing of Emre Guler from Canberra. The 27-year-old reported for training in stifling Wollongong heat on Tuesday.

If Molo is dumped, the Saints could go to market for another prop to fill a spot in their top 30.

Molo is a former Queensland State of Origin representative and his move to split with the Dragons came as a surprise, given he reportedly had a good relationship with coach Shane Flanagan.
