REV FRED NILE DECLARES THE CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATIC PARTY WILL CONTINUE TO STAND FOR TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN
19th February 2015
The Rev Hon Fred Nile, leader of the Christian Democratic Party, has today re-stated the Christian Democratic Party’s policy concerning traditional family and marriage, in view of Luke Foley’s (NSW ALP Opposition Leader) change of heart in favour of same-sex homosexual marriage.
“The CDP’s policies on marriage have remained the same as they were over 34 years ago, ever since I established this Party. We hold to the traditional family, Christian values which we will never alter and certainly not diminish in order to buy votes.
“Our National Charter states the CDP exists to support and promote recognition of our Christian heritage by uplifting the Judeo/Christian ethic, with pro-family, pro-child, pro-moral, pro-life, and pro-Australian policies.
“For 34 years our values have been presented in Parliament aiming to maintain the essence of Christian morality and values.
“The same-sex Marriage Bill is against God’s creative purposes and the truth that children ideally need both a female mother and a male father” said Rev Fred Nile.
“We recognise that family breakdown is a tragedy and we of course support sole parents in their enormous endeavours to nurture and raise their children single-handedly, but reinforce that the ideal situation is the traditional marriage of a male and a female” said Rev Nile.
