Christian Education is on the rise but also under attack

Christians must be allowed to teach and practice their faith

February 1, 2022

In most welcome news I am happy to report that Alphacrucius College in Parramatta has been formally recognised as a University College. Alphacrucius is now the first Pentacostal University College in Australia. This is a huge achievement for Alphacrucius and a real victory for Christians in Australia.

However in Queensland, Christian schools are under attack. Citipointe Christian College requires their students to adhere to Biblical standards. These standards are the common sense belief that marriage is a holy institution ordained by God between one man and one woman; that male and female sexes are biological and that sex outside of marriage is against the will of God.

In addition to a hostile petition and telephone harassment, Citipointe Christian College is now being investigated by the Far Left Queensland Education Minister Grace Grace. Ms Grace is noted as a champion of the LGBTQI+ community.

This is exactly why we need a Christian Education system and why we need legislation that defends our religious freedoms. I am proud to support the Religious Freedoms and Equality Bill 2020 in the NSW Parliament. I am encouraged to see that the Federal Government introduced their own Religious Freedoms Bill in November 2021 and I pray it passes.

Christians must be allowed to teach the Christian faith and practice Christian values. Anything less is unacceptable.

Yours faithfully,

Rev Hon Fred Nile MLC

CDP Parliamentary Leader
