Euthanasia Bill passes Legislative Assembly
53 – 36
Legislative Council debate begins next year
November 25, 2021
Dear Members and Supporters,
The Legislative Assembly has passed the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021 (Euthanasia) from a margin of 53 – 36.
Amendments are being proposed.
The fight against this dangerous Bill is not over.
Early next year this Bill will shuffle its way towards the Legislative Council where it will be vigorously debated, voted on and God-willing defeated like it has been in previous incarnations. The dates and times for debate is yet to be determined.
This Bill is a matter of life and death.
This Bill determines whether the State of New South Wales has the power to legally allow medical practitioners to kill their patients.
The Christian Democratic Party has always stood for life. I will always oppose Bills that kills people, whether born or unborn. As a Christian I could do not do any less, I am called to do so.
Euthanasia is not compassionate, killing is not care.
This Bill is not inevitable, it has been defeated before and it can be again. I need your support to do this.
Please send an email to [email protected] and volunteer your time to publically advocate against this Bill outside Parliament. Details to be announced soon.
Please sign and share our petition with your friends, family and community. Awareness is vital.
Please send letters and emails to all Members of the Legislative Council. Your voice matters.
Join me in opposing this dangerous Bill. You can make a difference.
Yours faithfully,
Rev Hon Fred Nile MLC
